Story
It's been five generations after the first war between Samurai and Shinobi. The five villages were founded shortly after and there has never been a war between them. Until now, all five villages have been off limits to the outside world, however the gates have been opened and ninja were allowed to travel between. But suddenly, kage are falling ill and no one knows who's behind it. The Hokage and Raikage both lie in comatose state, awaiting an answer as to what put them there.

Rather than doing X amount of missions to rank up... why not just make each mission reward X EXP? That way some of the harder missions (Assassinations, Killing... Cleaning a house) will be more rewarding than finding a cat... for Chunin.

EDIT: DRAFT OF EXP REQ BEFORE RANK UP

This would make jobs as follows:

D - 10 EXP
C - 15 EXP
B - 25 EXP
A - 50 EXP
S - 100 EXP

That would skew our rank up chart a bit... but would be about the same if....

Genin : 100 EXP
Chunin : 250 EXP
Special Jounin : 500 EXP
Jounin : 1000 EXP
S ranked shinobi : Title + Jonin Ranked

Above is the proposed EXP rules.
This was worked on in the staff section for a while, but I want to bring it all to you peeps. I proposed this, so if you do a higher ranked mission, you could rank up faster.

HOWEVER, you cannot do a mission above 1 rank of yourself. (Genin can do Chunin missions, but cannot do Jounin missions... unless accompanied)

Once again, I put the power in your hands.

What do you all think?

(10 votes, will implement the system,)

Reword it, just a bit. Something like this:

Each rank can do missions one rank above their own letter rank. So a D-Rank Genin can do C-Rank mission or a D-Rank mission, nothing more.

However, for Genin, in squads of three, they can do up to two ranks higher. So in a Genin squad, that same Genin can do B-Rank missions. For Chuunin or higher, it just takes at least 2 ninja to meet this requirement.

I like the Exp idea, but I still think there should be a minimum amount of missions you have to do to rank up. Just a suggestion.

Who said anything about Exams? I just suggested keeping a minimum requirement for the amount of missions someone needs. Without it peeps would fly through the ranks in no time, not implying you should be trying to hold them back. Could easily hit Jounin from Genin in a week with just raw exp rewards for missions and no bare minimum needed. Just spam S&A-Ranks

I think the Chunin rank should be locked and have Genins to rank only via Exams

The rest from there can be mission wise

If the site regularly host Chunin Exams that could work, most Naruto Rp's aren't too good with that though so that might be kinda dicey o.o

Chunin exams look good when a site is fully active. If not, it takes a while and everything becomes crap. Mission counts looks good and same with Exp. But I'll say social rp be added in either way. Like apart from mission or exp, the ninja should have rp'd with at least 5 shinobis in the village. Something like that. It doesn't make one all focused on missions.

That's up to the Kage, at that point..
But still... social to rank up? Maybe cash in RP RYO for EXP rather than RYO MAYBE...

But no. Do missions.

Well, if a shinobi completes required mission or gets the exp according to site rules, I dont think kage can stop em from ranking up. So, its either the social is implemented in the rules or its not. Doesn't really depend on kage.

I said EXAM, or KAGE PROMOTION.

Because missions should give EXP, not socials.

What if... You got a minimum amount of TIME?

Like, to rank up from Genin to Chuunin, you have to have X amount of EXP, and have posted in last month's activity thread.

This solves the flying through ranks issue and the still need to do missions issue without some ridiculous requirements I have seen before.

Then exams become activity checks?
I can roll with that.

I agree with rena. Genin rank ups should be locked to chunin exams. Others, mission. Looks more canon that way. Though, we aren't exactly canon.
