Missions with Friends

Grey woke up extra early, but primarily because Shousha was tugging on his ear first thing in the morning. "Dammit brother." He would say with a firm tone in his voice as he still lay rested in bed with eyes closed. "Why do you always do this to me?" Shou just laughed and continued to tug the boys ear. "You are to go do some missions with a few other Genin of the village. I will be making sure you all get the job done." The older brother would say. "Now get your lazy ass our of bed because we have to go and meet up with them."

Grey fell out of bed after rolling horizontally. A large thud could be heard on the ground as he did so. He forced himself into the shower to bathe before putting on some clothes as well as his headband around his waist. He thought it made for a cooler belt than forehead protection. The two made their ways out of the village and headed for the main square of Konohagakure. They had to walk a bit but he was happy to travel the distance. Shousha explained that Hana would be there and Grey was of course eager to meet up with her. A smile could be seen on his face as he waited for the two other genin that were to meet him here.

Hana would feel something against her shoulder as she layed in her bed asleep. At this, the girl would sit up as fast as she could only to see it was her mother. "I'm sorry Darling. I didn't mean to scare you but you wouldn't wake up." Her voice was soft and sweet. It helped the child's heart rate slow immensely as she rubbed her eyes. "It's ok. Thanks Momma." Hana would speak these words with a yawn afterwards. The girl would flop back down laying flat on her back. The young Uzumaki would not leave her bed without staring at her ceiling for a while. It was something only her mother and herself understood.

Not too long after the child almost had a heart attack she would get out of bed and get herself dressed. The girls attire would consist of A black T-shirt with the sleeves being short enough to show half of her blue tattoo, blue jean shorts,which were about half-thigh length, and her black shinobi sandals. The young Uzumaki would put her hair up in a pony tail with two strands framing her face and her bangs covering her forehead. After fixing her hair, Hana would put her headband on with it sitting just behind where the girls bangs begin. Soon after the girl would eat her breakfast and hurry out the door.

Hana was excited for today because she would be going on missions, which she liked to do. She didn't care what they did or where they did it. It was always a chance of the girl to do the best she could do. She loved to show how hard she worked because she liked to make her parents proud. Hana wanted to become the best she could no matter what.

Today was the day that Jigoku had his first mission. He had already been up for a few hours despite the early time of the morning, and he had gone to visit his mother, Mei. He sat with her now as they spoke, Mei offering reassuring words to ease his mind before his first mission. Jigoku could feel his knees wobble and struggle offer the rest of his body any support as he stood because of the urging of his mother. "Come on, Ji, you're going to be late! I'll even walk with you to the square; I have to get some shopping done."

Jigoku offered his mother a reassuring smile, as if she was the one who could not speak past the lump of nervousness in his throat. He swallowed in a failed attempt to force the lump down his throat and bury it within his stomach, to defeat that which crippled his speech. He thought to himself. Words! Come on, Ji, words! But they of course failed him. He brushed his clothing off, and he stepped out of the door to his mother's house. He was at least able to walk confidently. If she only saw him from the back... Would she think he was strong? Not physically, but emotionally? Would his eleven year old personality be too obvious? He knew he was meeting up with two other Genin... They were more experienced than he. They had been on missions before.

When Jigoku noticed the other Genin in town square, he immediately relaxed. There was another Uchiha there. He was near Ji's age, he knew, because he had seen him around the Uchiha compound before. His mother kissed him atop the head and bid him farewell as she departed to do her shopping, and Ji smiled at the two Genin waiting for him. "Hiya! Sorry for my tardiness, Mama wanted to be sure I ate well before we left. So... What's the task?"

As he saw Cherry approaching, Grey looked up at his older brother and thought to himself quietly, though quickly. 'If Shou is here while I'm trying to impress Hana and then he does something to embarrass me, then I'll be ashemed for the rest of my life! I have to do something to get rid of this man!' That was when he opened his mouth and spoke to his brother about his concerns. "Hey Shou, these missions are only D ranked, so I think I can handle them by myself..." Grey would say. He had never done a mission without the help of his brother but there was a first time for everything and he would already be outside of his comfort zone. Shousha looked down at the younger of the Uchiha and smiled. "Trying to impress this girl again are you?" Grey's face turned red and before he could open his mouth to argue, the older spoke once more. "It's fine, I'll watch from the trees." And with a flash he was gone. Grey had no time to argue, only time to be worried and look around him to try to find his brother, who could not be seen. Baby brother Uchiha could feel him staring though, his skin crawling with fear.

He turned around quickly because Hana was now there. "H-hi Cherry! Thanks for joining me today." And soon behind here was a third person that Grey had not yet had the pleasure of meeting. He would turn to the newcomer and extend a hand for a shaking of the pair as he opened his mouth to speak. "It's no problem, I'm Grey Uchiha." He turned and looked at Hana and would help introduce her, as manly men often did with their significant others. "And this beauty is Hana." He smiled, though his voice softly broke on the last syllable of his sentence. It wasn't too noticable, but he hoped neither of the pair was able to hear it. From a bush not too far away, Shousha laughed, though unheard by the three.

Hana was getting closer to the place that she was to meet with the other genin. She could already see one of the others, which she knew was Grey. The girl had seen Grey many times and talked to him more than anyone. So, it was very easy to tell who he was wether is be from a distance or far away. However, the one next to him she didn't exactly recognize though he was standing with Grey meaning it was most likely a relative or someone of the sort. Before she could get closer to the area though, he seemed to vanish. This wasn't really if any shock to her considering that her mother could do the same. She'd be there one moment and be gone in a flash. It wasn't actually that hard to do. However, all her thoughts about the event would cease when she got close enough to Grey that he would start to speak.

"Hi Grey." Hana would reply this to the Uchiha. Her response being sometime before the other genin had arrived. A smile was set upon her face but her voice was rather soft. The truth was the girl was rather nervous that they would be meeting a new genin. Hana also didn't know if it would be a male or a female, which made her even more nervous. The girl tried to make new friends she did but most of the time things didn't work out like she hoped. It was really a miracle to the girl that she had managed to befriend Grey. So far, he was her only friend other than the mysterious Killian she had met but she still didn't know if he was considered a friend or not. So, he was more of an aquaintance.

Not too long after Hana had shown up, the third genim of their group had arrived. The young Uzumaki would stand near Greys side. The third genin was in fact a male, which only made the girl want to hide. However, she couldn't let herself seem rude so she would smile a small smile and then look towards her feet. The young girl didn't know how she was supposed to form words for this new male and was glad when Grey decided to introduce her. Her head would lift as he dis so giving the other genin another smile. She tried to hold back a blush after hearing the way she was introduced but failed miserably. Now she believed that she looked like a giant cherry as the other kids woukd have called her. This would make her turn away from the two. 'Let's just get on with it.' Hana would think to herself. She didnt want Grey or this other boy to see her looking like a cherry. Then they'd have something to make fun of her for.

Jigoku observed the other two Genin. The girl... She sported a bright red face. It seemed to be more embarrassment than anger, and this put the eleven year old Uchiha more at ease. He wasn't the only nervous one. He smiled. Suddenly, rather than nervous, he was quite excited to be on his first mission, though he knew it was only a D-Rank mission, which tended to be little more than chores. The sudden relief swept through him, and his demeanor changed drastically. He went from nervous to suddenly excited and adventurous. Which, so it happened, was one of his favorite things to do. Learn. Experience.

Ji had been informed that the other Uchiha before him was more experienced than he, and therefore probably more powerful, so he spoke to him after offering the girl he introduced a casual bow of politeness. "Alright, shall we get to work? What's the task for the day?". The young Genin wondered how proud of him his mother was... He was undertaking his first task as a Genin. And his father... As surprised as he was, thoughts of him even entered Jigoku's mind. Would he be shaking his head in disappointment? Jigoku's father was the Head of the Uchiha's Military Forces... Taking commands only from the Clan Head himself. Would the man expect more than a D-Rank mission? These thoughts visually troubled the young new warrior as he contemplated. He was sure the other Genin would pick up on it.

Grey was happy that they had a full team to go on their expidition today. The likes of the three would go out on the missions and Grey could embrace his honed skills in order to impress Cherry, who's face resembled her nickname at the moment. He was tempted to make a comment on it but decided she was probably hiding her face for a reason, hoping they would not see what was underneath. However, Grey did not like this, as he preferred to be able to see her no matter what tone her skin was. He leaned over and whispered to her. "Hey, you're too cute to worry about all that." He would say comfortingly. After saying it, he immediately realized that she would probably think of it as flirting and blushed as he leaned away from her. The tips of his cheekbones were not a subtle shade of red, as he tried to draw as much attention away from it as possible.

He would show how much of a leader he was today by venturing with his teammates, as he was ready for the challenge today brought. However, it seemed something was wrong with their third member. He seemed to be distraught, making no attempts to hid it whatsoever. Grey reached out top him, putting on hand on his shoulder before speaking. "Whatever it is that's bothering you, don't worry too much about it. Life's all about not stressing the little things right?" He took his hand off of the boy's shoulder and began walking forward, across the street to the lady who owned all of the dogs the group was supposed to walk. He smiled as he turned around, now walking backwards. "By the way, we never got your name. What was it?" He closed his eyes with a bright smile on his face as his teeth were exposed to the two.

Shousha thought to himself as the group walked past him from a distance. His little brother was certainly charismatic. However, he did not pay much attention to his surroundings. This meant he would need to learn a bit more about sensory later. Shou smiled as he watched the younger Uchiha's attempt at making friends. It was actually kind of cute and unexpected from the younger brother. The older nodded as he listened in on the conversation of the few.
