It's been five generations after the first war between Samurai and Shinobi. The five villages were founded shortly after and there has never been a war between them. Until now, all five villages have been off limits to the outside world, however the gates have been opened and ninja were allowed to travel between. But suddenly, kage are falling ill and no one knows who's behind it. The Hokage and Raikage both lie in comatose state, awaiting an answer as to what put them there.

Konoha Anbu
Konoha Anbu
The Serpent of The Leaf, a title that Hebidoku had by now grown accustomed to, strode through a vast, open plane, relishing the soft feeling of the lush grass beneath her feet. Or perhaps she relished the feeling of crushing the grass? The Anbu could never decide. Hebi stopped her striding, turning her head slowly to inspect her surroundings, of which there where few. The tall, green strands of grass seemed to stretch endlessly, accompanied by the blue sky, clear as a crystal, and just as large as the enormous plane of grass. The ample yellow orb which was the sun rested on the emptiness of the sky, illuminating the field below like a lamp.

Squinting to defend her eyes from the annoying rays of the sun, Hebi spotted three small tree stumps, each with targets on them. Taking a few more steps towards them, Hebi reached into the pocket of her Jonin vest which, along with regular black pants, she had chosen to wear on this occasion. After groping around in the pocket for a moment, the Anbu retrieved a sharp object, a Kunai Knife. Gripping it hard out of uncertainty, Hebi breathed in.

Bukijutsu was a skill she had learned in the ninja academy, and one she had neglected for most of her life afterwards. The feel of a weapon felt alien to her, something very uncommon among ninja. Ashamed of being a black sheep of sorts, the Anbu had resolved to train her skills with weapons. This was the first step.

Allowing herself one more breath of reassurance, Hebi opened her eyes and narrowed them, focusing on the target. Swinging her arm around her neck, she threw the weapon with all her force, and all of her spite, intent on killing this..tree stump? Hebi shook her head at the absurdity of the though, and looked at her target. She had not struck the centre circle. She had barely struck the stump. She would have to practice more.
