Her Last Element. [PT] SgHiO95

One year, that had long it had been since Kali had acquired not only boil release but also the necessary element needed for lava release, earth release. An entire year, and not once had she attempted to learn lava release, she being rather busy to practice another element and Misaka had thought it best that her student got use to the four elements that she already possessed. To be frank, the unofficial member of the Terumi clan wasn’t about to complain, for she needed time to practice the elements she already had, and she was also sick of elemental training. She did want to learn how to harness all of her elements to their fullest capabilities, there not being many people who could wield two advanced elements naturally, but she, sixteen at the time, needed a break. It wasn’t like she had a set date to learn both advanced elements or they would suddenly disappear, no, they were deeply embedded into her genetic make-up and so long as she didn’t end up getting herself killed, she had plenty of time to learn lava release. Besides, she wielded more elements than anybody else within the village, and she wielded two with deadly proficiency, so lava release could definitely wait until she built a reservoir of earth release and boil release techniques.

So, for an entire year, Kali continued to work under the tutelage of Misaka, learning how to harness the elements that she had been blessed with through mastering of multiple techniques. Her Ninjutsu skills had improved immensely since the previous year along with her Taijutsu and Bukijutsu skill, she had even gone as far as to dabble in Sensory. Yet she wasn’t only doing training since that would definitely burn her out over time as well as become a bore, so she had also being conducting a good deal of missions. Should she also mention that she had been promoted to the rank of Jounin? Yeah, her sensei, the Mizukage, believed that she was ready for the responsibilities that came with the rank, and after receiving several recommendations from her mentors, he saw no reason to keep her as a Chunin. It was clear that she was stronger than a Chunin, had mastered more than one skill thus not making Sp. Jounin an option, which left her with the title of Jounin. All in all, she was proud of what she had achieved during her elemental training break, but now she was ready to learn this final element.

Now she would love to be done with elemental training, but she knew that if she wanted her ability to wield the five elements bestowed upon her that she would need to practice them daily as to not get rusty. And she definitely didn’t want to get rusty for by doing so would make all the training she had done a total waste of her time and she wouldn’t be able to wield her elements with such deadliness like she did now. But that was of no matter today, or any day since she would never consider taking a long break from training, especially since she was in the company of the one who would help her gain lava release. Kaiden was his name apparently, an old friend of Misaka that she had met about a week ago, courtesy of the woman who had taught her water release, fire release, earth release, and boil release in under five years. It was something the woman could certainly boast about, and if she could teach Kali lava release she probably would just so that she could proudly say that she had taught a ‘true’ Terumi all of her elements. Though than again, perhaps the woman didn’t care about being able to boast such a feat, the Himitsu wasn’t sure for her mentor’s motives were never really clear.

Though the woman certainly couldn’t do anything more than provide tips that Kaiden could easily give, Misaka had accompanied the duo, seeing it as her duty to watch the job that she had started, finished. Admirable to say the least, and deep down inside, Kali was glad that the woman had decided to accompany them instead of staying back. She wasn’t sure what to think about Kaiden, the blonde-haired man having said a word since their initially meeting which was making her rather nervous. It was a feeling that she didn’t like all that much, and would had definitely been a problem if not for Misaka, her mere presence soothing the Himitsu somewhat. Her uncertainties were kept at bay, and her teenage mind was allowed to think of other matters that didn’t necessarily pertain to the training that Kaiden would put her through. Yet every once in a while a thought would creep into her head, such as how did Kaiden go about training his students and if he was a sadist in battle like Misaka. When those thoughts entered her mind, she would stare at the back of the man’s head, curiosity evident in her eyes though she wouldn’t say a word, not wanting to bombard the poor man with questions.

It was something Misaka had complained about when they had first begun to train one another, the woman having been visibly annoyed with all the questions being thrown her way by the adolescent. Though the woman was a patient individual and was more than happy to answer the question of the Himitsu, she did get rather tired and eventually told Kali to shut up as well as stating that the adolescent asked too many god damn questions. Of course, being the sort of person she was, upon being told such a thing, she immediately began to ask question sparingly and only when absolutely necessary for she didn’t want to annoy Misaka. For a week the child had been quiet after the woman had snapped at her, unsure on rather or not she should speak, though she resumed talking to Misaka upon the woman telling her that just because she told the kid to stop asking questions all the time didn’t mean that she should forgo talking altogether.

With nothing to say to the man, and not really having a desire to question him, the trio traversed the mountains quietly, they having walked a good five miles from the village. Yet soon trees would surround the group having exit the mountain ranges, and though there were plenty of places to train, they continued to walk. Kali knew where they were headed, having practiced at the clearing in the forest countless times with Misaka, and due to the frequencies that she visited the area, knew how to get there with her eyes closed. And without needing to be told, she knew that their journey would soon come to an end and that the training would begin. And much to her surprise, Kaiden expected one thing and one thing alone for her to do, and that was to produce molten rock. He warned her from the very beginning that producing such a thing would probably take a week, minimum, but with her experience he believed that it should only take her a max of three days to produce molten rocks. An expectation Kali knew that she could meet with ease, having become accustomed to learning elements that if it were possible she would definitely set out to learn all five basic elements. But due to her genetic make-up, she would have to be content with just three basic elements and see her two advanced ones as replacements for lightning release and wind release.

Yet Kali, as she closed her eyes and ran chakra throughout her body, wasn’t cocky enough to believe that she would be able to produce molten rocks on the first day. Yet she focused on doing as she was told, continuously running chakra throughout her body until she was told to stop, which was eight hours later. A disappointed look was on her face as she saunter over to the campsite that Misaka and Kaiden had constructed whilst she was training, but she had been told that there was always tomorrow, something she agreed with. The next day she had awaken before the crack of dawn, and after inhaling a breakfast bar, set out to complete the task assigned to her yesterday. It didn’t happen right away, though she didn’t expect for it to, knowing that it would take time to accomplish. Yet with a good deal of patience and encouragement from the two Jounin, she continued to practice until she finally produced molten rock, brown eyes watching as it streamed from her mouth only to harden upon being doused with water, courtesy of Misaka. She had no time to think over her actions though, Kaiden instructing her to do it again and again until she got a hang of it, and without second thought she obeyed. By time the third day came around, she could produce molten rocks whenever she pleased, though it was pretty useless without a technique. But that didn’t matter for techniques were something that could be learned later on. What did matter was the fact that she could now use her last element.
