Mission Details:

Stepping out his apartment with a rather dreary expression, Ondori looked to the skies of Kumogakure to see a cloud filled plane. Sunshine only stretched out in thin beacons through the holes in the cloud formations, but these beacons were few in number. Tapping the front of his ninja sandals harmlessly on the concrete, he pulled his hood from his cloak over his head and departed. Given he didn't have anything of value, Ondori didn't even bother locking his door.

I should be meeting my superior at the village gates, hope he's on time. The Genin thought to himself as he leaped rooftop from rooftop to the designated arrival zone. Landing softly on the ground, ONdori took his hood off and scanned the area. Hmmm, where could they be?

Saburo left his household with a paper in hand. It was given to him this morning by one of his men, delivered from the Administration Building. It said that he was assigned to mission duty with a Genin who requested a Jounin to work with him. An unknown number of bandits bordering on the Chunin level were going to be hitting town soon, if nobody is around to intercept them. The Daitaishou would have turned it down if the money hadn't been good, for he had considered making plans today to have a nice hangover with his buds. Curiously enough, it was an A-rank assignment. This Genin he was gonna supervise must be one damn prodigy. He crumbled the papers up and tossed it in the trash bin, leaving a petite recycling bin next to it full of grief for losing what would have been a fitting friend.

He walked towards the gates in a swaggalicious stride. The doom that seemed to have permeated above the village did not seem to faze him. He appeared with his black tank top draped over by his yellow jacket. His yellow pants did not make much noise as his legs moved, but his golden boots with a spiked devillish tip did make a slight clang sound as it continuously hit the rocky ground. Robust and muscular, Saburo's great athletic build was a proud resilience to the gloom of the day, and several people who saw him march by had to blink twice because they had thought of him as a giant. He saw a dark haired boy in the distance, without a shred of a smile on him. He was garbed mostly in black, but Saburo could also make out the characteristic insignia for the Nara people from where he was coming from. His own face lightened him with a grin, as he stopped short three meters from the boy.

Whereas Saburo had his mighty build, charismatic foreign-like handsome face, and fabulous attire, the Genin he had to supervise seemed to represent the drabbish atmosphere. Ah well, beat some pimp-ass mofos today, and they can color themselves a lovely red.

"You uh...duh.... my kid?" Saburo asked, placing his left hand on his left hip as if he was posing.

"We got a few freebooters whose necks we uh gotta break".

It was needless to say Ondori's superior for the mission could be heard before he was seen. Hate to get on the wrong side of this guy yeesh Ondori thought as he stole glances at the man as he steadily walked closer and closer to the gates. Of course the boy didn't label him as his Ops Leader for the day, not until the man had stopped in front of the Genin that was. Looking up to lock eyes with the behemoth who seemed to be physically dense as steel, contrary to what one would think Ondori was excited to get a chance to work with the man. He seemed like he could teach Ondori a few new things with his presence alone. "Yes, I'm Ondori Nara, so you must be Saburo. Nice to meet you, ready to depart?" It wasn't everyday one got to observe such a person in such close proximity and let alone act as his support in combat. Further roving on the idea made a faint smile of contentment sit comfortably on Ondori's visage.

Given the man was ready to go, more than likely a pointless query, Ondori would start the journey out the gates at a casual paced walk. "I know I'm supposed to act as support one this mission, but I was hoping I could run a battle strategy by you if that's ok." Ondori would look to Saburo patiently awaiting an answer. If he was granted permission to give his battle plan, he would do so as his eyes were fixated on the forest of the Lightning Country that was out in the distance. His voice hosting mature levels of seriousness, but his mind remained open for tweaking, especially if it came from someone of Saburo's rank. "I was thinking we could assume a vantage point in the forest, rather than face the bandits head on. Their current camp is setup about ten miles North according to the mission synopsis. That said if we set up about five to six miles out we can ambush them and still have enough land towards retreat home to retreat and then engage again or request reinforcements." His eyes lost their frozen chokehold on the vegetation as they looked to Saburo a bit more softened. "What do you think?"

"Ondori huhh.." repeated Saburo, as his mouth shifted into something that bordered between an amused grin and a joyous smile. He looked closely at the boy's face, his hair, and his overall body shape. He had taken a second or two just to appreciate the humor behind the boy's name, for it spawned the visual image of a species of a bird that has cock-a-doodle-doo as part of its vocabulary. "A fine young lad you turn out to be", he continued. "We should not waste haste", Saburo said with his hand out in the air above Ondori's head as if he was about to pat him in the shoulder, but simply kept it hanging there as it was merely part of a shrug that signaled to Ondori that it is fine with him that they leave immediately after names are exchanged.

A nod accompanied Saburo's sincere attention to Ondori in response before Ondori began to draw up their strategy while they headed down to the forestry. And there was some decisive thinking coming out of his mouth. The enemies are supposed to be something like team captains in their skill level and know the basics about pursuit... but this Onoderi boy seems to have something working up in his mind. Who knows. Maybe our village pegged him down at the wrong level of the hierarchy. he thought.  "Quite dee.... boisterous one. You spent last night preparing duh... all of that?" he replied, with a bit of a chuckle behind his words. "We will take cover in the woods, then. Believe me when I tell you I will know if our targets are veering off-track". He didn't want to say outright that he was a sensor. Better to give his abilities a bit of privacy; Saburo did not let his guard down even before one two decades short of his age. "I know a bit about dee.. y'know, shadows. I would like to see you put yours in action, 'cause there gonna be plenty of enemies and I know you can shadow-bag every single one of them, get what I mean? You can be on the ground (waves towards the base of the forest) , where your shadow can easily be disguised with all of the trees that are gonna be around. I'll hold my position on top (points higher than where he waved to show that he'll be at a more elevated position)".

"Oh, and duh... what uh... what you got there. You have any good tools or ninjutsu on yah?" Saburo asked.

Ondori listened to what Saburo had to say and he nodded where the time was appropriate, but remained silent the whole while the man spoke. He has a unique way of speaking, but he knows what he's talking about. This mission should really be a cake walk if I can just carry my weight. Ondori was mentally captured by the man, appreciating the fact he wasn't like the typical ones that escorted him on missions. Not tearing down his plan to nothingness then rebuilding it and stealing aspects from it and not just nodding and saying, "yeah that sounds good." The man offered feedback and added details onto the plan. Not only did this give Ondori a sense of accomplishment knowing his plan was going to be used, but it showed him areas his planning fell short and where he could improve in the planning process down the road. "That sounds fantastic, I appreciate your feedback. When it comes to jutsu though sadly I can only utilize my clans jutsu. I also have ten kunai with me, that's all though." The Genin felt as if he had fallen short in this department, but he could make up for his lack of many jutsu with countless ways of using them. Ondori wasn't one to even sound as if he was making an excuse or to sound as if he was shouldering off his lack of abilities, so he kept it at what he said. "May I ask what your specialties involve Saburo?" One would surely want to say Taijutsu from the way the man's body was built, but they were ninja, the art of surprise and doing unexpected things was part of the job. "Actually . . . if you think I can afford not to know to be able to perform at an acceptable level, then you don't have to answer." The Nara Ninja didn't want to seem too invasive and also wanted to work on adapting to new circumstances based on the enemies abilities and his allies, in the midst of combat.

The duo was now being swallowed by the aura of the forestry. Just being closed in and out of the grassland, gave Ondori an anxious feeling in his body as he knew it would soon be time to perform or at least to start ambush preparations.

Saburo could see that Ondori did not have a versatile arsenal, but that did not mean he lacked a versatile mind, for there must be some skill and not power in him that made him take on an A-rank mission without suicidal thoughts. "Nah, nah, listen to this", Saburo said, stoping in his tracks as they entered the forest. He placed his hand up like earlier right before they left through the gates, this time it was a sign to draw Ondori closer in to him. "With what you got and what I have, we are gonna be number one in efficiency. You know why? Cause you Naras got ways to make your shadows lethal. Now I don't know if you're gonna dabble into the ninjutsu craft with the elements and all that, but you just gotta work with what you got. You be a weapons guy and you're gonna fly to the top". He continued his walk down the forest.

Saburo was not bothered by Ondori's restriction to Nara clan techniques and some number of kunais. He had ways to make Ondori's hiden ability work really well. "I'm a big guy, so I like to mangle people with my bare hands. I like to start with the head and manipulate their faces, y'know. Tore apart a few men recently, too. But all you have to know is that I have a wind jutsu that I can turn to a flash bomb. Speed doesn't matter no more once I let the light lose, because that's gonna make every shade on the ground turn pretty damn big and get the suckers when they can't see nothin'. That's gonna be how we take them out. You following up? You like it?"

They were close to where they should be setting themselves up. Saburo would have to be up in a branch or something to use his wind jutsu, while Ondori would be down low getting himself ready for the cue. They could end the ambush in ten seconds if they play their cards right.

It seemed Ondori's hypothesis was pretty accurate, but the Genin had to admit he was a little skeptical on his guess of Saburo's fighting style. Only reason being, the ninja world was full of surprises, but it seemed this one was built for what he did. He's a little open about his fighting isn't he . . . Ondori looked over at Saburo, specifically his rippling muscles and for a moment the Nara found himself a bit shook from the man's presence alone, but all he had to do was stay on the fellow's good side. "Alright that sounds perfect . . . face rearranging and bare handed decapitation aside . . . but alright, I'll take post up behind a tree so I won't be effected by your flash bomb technique." Walking for only a few more minutes, Ondori knew they were in between their marks of five to six miles deep, so he stopped. "Ok this place should be good, best of luck to you Saburo." Ondori's heart began to thump heavy in his chest, anxiety was settling in, to cope he closed his eyes and took in a breath. Scanning the area, he then moved to place his left side against a tree. His right side was directed towards where the duo had come from, so only a 90 degrees pivot would be needed to spin out into the open and hop right into the action. The Genin's positioning would also grant him a sliver of vision of Saburo, just enough to see the man while he was stationary. The moment he would begin to move, he would be out of sight and the Nara would only be waiting for the flash to begin his support role. To help his cause a bit however, five kunai were strategically tossed into the bodies of trees, so when the flash would go off, more shadows would be created and at least two of his kunai's shadows would be stretched straight out towards Ondori.

IN about five minutes worth of waiting after both would have prepared themselves, muffles of talking would be heard in the distance, then the undeniable sound of ninja sandals on the branches of trees. *Taka taka taka taka* Here, they come Ondori's eyes would shift over to Saburo and his hands would slowly rise to his chest making the Rat seal prematurely.

Once they had arrived at a consensus on their strategy, they continued to walk until they were at an appropriate distance away. Saburo knew what to do as he jumped on a rather thick tree, with minimal surges of chakra to aid in his vertical walking. He landed on a branch that was well elevated and pointing to the direction from whence they came. A few bundles of leaves here and there also helped so long as it did not cloud his vision. Forming a single handseal where his index and middle fingers jutted upwards against each other, with the thumbs resting on them and the other two pairs interlaced, he was able to initiate his jutsu. Eight spinning spheres of compressed wind formed around Saburo, and he had positioned them behind the trunk of a few trees as high as possible so long as it remained within a certain distance from him. The first part was completed. These wind spheres gave off a bit of luminescence of their own, but what Saburo will trigger will be intense. Once the Spiral Air Mines were set in place, he took out four kunai and accompanied them with four paper notes with kanji letters written on the material. Once they were tied to the hoop, Saburo kept all four of them in one hand, their handles gripped in between his fingers. He had to throw and set them off at the same time in order for this to work. Now he only needed to bide his time.

They did not have to wait long. Without even having to rely on his sensory radar, Saburo was able to detect incoming enemies by sight and sound. They rushed through the trees at a favorable speed, as they were clearly eager to instigate their raid on Kumogakure, only to be unaware that the enemy was so close to them already. Once they entered Saburo's line of sight, it was time for the fireworks to begin. With a single thought, all eight of the air mines that had been hovering in wait of ambush rushed in from all directions. However, they did not close in on the men, who immediately slowed down the moment the air mines came out and with their great reflexes, they retreated to the bottom surface, right on the ground, to assess the trap that had awaited them from a safe distance. The air mines did not care for the bandits, but rather they all converged on a single point of contact that was roughly fifteen meters above where the eight men are. They did not do much in response, for lack of comprehension had an effect on reaction, and they were at a good distance away too. Saburo did not give them further time for thought. Before the air mines came together, he pulled his arm back and revealed his position. "Now!" He threw those kunais accurately at the nearest air mine, as the exploding tags would trigger to let out multiple waves of fire while the air mines expanded at a fast velocity simultaneously once they came together.

Fire and wind mixed, as a bright fiery explosion emerged. With double the explosive radius of a single air mine, this chain reaction produced as much light as the standard flash bomb. The whole part of the forest they were in lighted up for a brief instant, allowing all shadows to instantly flicker to grow in size. The bandits, although knowing they would not be harmed by it, shielded themselves from the blinding light, distracted and unknowing of the black snake that would then slither across the ground to meet their own silhouettes on the ground. Saburo had retreated back behind the tree with his back turned against it before the explosion occured, allowing him to follow up quickly after it was all over. For a Genin, subjugating eight shadows of men who could fight at the Chunin level was extremely tough. And that was what Saburo was here for.

Up near the canopy of the forestry is where Saburo lied in wait. After the man took his position shortly after he began battle preparations. Ondori couldn't see all what was happening, but he knew it was something he'd regret not being able to observe. In no time action began to unfold and paint Ondori's mind with chaos and brilliant color. Regardless of the mental scatter, the Genin kept physical composure and began to move when the verbal cue was given. Pivoting out into the open, though it gave away his position, it allowed for better focus since he'd be able to see his targets. As he spun out into the open, his Shadow Imitation jutsu was also activated and it greedily latched onto the elongated shadows that were created from the aerial firestorm. Eight targets and all sized up to perform at Chunin Levels, Ondori knew holding them with the Shadow Imitation technique wouldn't last for long. That in mind the Nara didn't lock his grip on his foes and simply let the shadows all link to Ondori's. All the bandits now returning from an endangered state of mind, soon enough their vision fixated upon Ondori, only a few noted the shadows, but even then didn't realize what potential it had. Don't get to hasty on me now. Ondori thought as his hands shifted into the abstract Bird hand seal. "Shadow Sewing!" As he spoke, one bandit let out a gruesome cry as a myriad of black long needles jutted out of the shadow around him into his own body. None thick enough to cause fatal damage, but it did restrict his movement and cause a great deal of pain and discomfort.

The bandits would turn to look at this, then turn back to Ondori to attack. Breathing in, as the Genin exhaled the air came out sharply and his chakra surged as he was still holding the Bird seal. Another Bandit was pierced through, this one in mid leap towards the Genin, then another. "Three is all I have the chakra for!" He shouted out, still holding them in place trusting Saburo to come to his aid so he wouldn't have to release his jutsu. In actuality he had enough to bind one more if need be, but he wanted to save this last bit he held onto for one last trick that could be used to finish off or halt a few bandits himself.

After the light had subsided, Saburo felt it was safe for his eyes to return to whence they were a few seconds ago, and his gaze found itself on eight little men who were caught with their dicks out. The heat still remained in the air, and the warm climate did make Saburo a little bit stiff, which annoyed him to a degree. Ondori had been out and holding a single handseal that kept up his clan's proud technique, which as both of them had proved now, was not an impractical parlor trick, but lethal support. With their shadows linked Ondori gave Saburo a window of opportunity for a one-in-a-lifetime free shot. And Saburo had to make it a slam dunk.

He could see Ondori was struggling physically and mentally to keep his jutsu up. To split one's shadow into eight and connect with enemies who have been more recognized for their feats and accomplishments than you, that would take a lot of chakra and stamina. However, they did not stand above the skilled Genin, who with the help of a humble Jounin, was able to devise an ambush strategy that caught these arrogant bastards in the death trap that one sees right now. Psychological warfare fares better than any when victory goes to the one who makes the first move.

Even better is that the Nara learned how to use his shadow offensively, manipulating the Yang element to really make his shadow move as if it was living. Three targets were impaled, further strenghtening the binding. Unfortunately Ondori could not bind the others, which did make things more difficult for Saburo, but he knew what he had to do here. With a single formation where his fingers arranged themselves into something like a cross, a duplicate appeared besides Saburo, emerging from the brief screen of smoke. With a strong grip on his clone's arm, Saburo gave a good 360 degree spin before launching his clone right at the incoming bandits who were thirteen meters away from Ondori. He exercised all of his arm strength as a master of Taijutsu to use his clone as something of a suicidal rammer. As two of the bandits formed handseals, one of which was able to use Raiton: Gian and the other the Manipulating Attack Blades, they were surprised to see the clone moving overhead above them and landing three meters behind the farthest bandit, who was ensnared by the Shadow Sewing. As Saburo's fingers founded themselves in the same formation earlier, another explosion occured, one with a greater range than the chain reaction Saburo produced himself. The shadow exploded, releasing a large concussive force. Cracks appeared all over the forest ground, as if someone had taken a hammer the size of a small building and used it to smash the surface under them, and what came out was shattered rock.

The bandits who were stabbed died from the impact, and several other bandits were tossed aside, their bodies flinging through the air like ragdolls before they smacked right into  tree, knocking the daylights out of them. Saburo and Ondori were relatively safe from this, aside from a few pieces of dirt and dust that landed near their necks. Saburo was on the ground as he surveilled who were among the survivors of his violent assault. He didn't have time to do turn on his sensory radar, for he saw two figures emerging from the dust cloud, and came to the conclusion that two of them had been able to shrug it off.

Ondori had grew nervous as his foes drew closer to him in their rushed pace, but in due time Saburo had come to the Genin's aid . . . or at least a clone of the hulking mass of a man. Virtually all of the Nara's focus was pit into slowing down the bandits advance, so when he caught sight of 'Saburo' hurdling to the ground at such speeds, he assumed the man was crazy and had no thoughts of catching himself. Sweat accumulating on his face, the veins near his temples were visibly bulging from the exertion, but in one forest rattling boom all the strain was gone, at least for the moment. The sustained katas of the hand were released and the face of Ondori was shielded by one arm while the other subconsciously rose near his torso to endure the buffet of the wind, dust, and dirt. He didn't dare jump in fear of being blown away without being grounded. "Well damn, that should have done them in right?"

His cloak violently fluttered, but it eventually settled down and his arms dropped slightly to look in front of him. Wildlife fled the forest, birds through the canopy of the trees, rodents leaping from branch to branch, and other pest like reptiles in through the earth, the whole region had seemed to have been disturbed by the exertion of power, though it had only destroyed about 15m of land. Peering into the cloud of dust, Ondori could make out two frames. They didn't seem to be in the best shape, taking force damage from the explosion rather than direct, but it was safe to assume they could and were willing to put up a fight. Quickly the Nara's mind scattered through neutralization methods, but his previously made ace was now unusable. Finding those kunai I had rigged is out of the question, due to the explosion. "I can take out one if you take the other." Ondori's eyes stayed forward as he spoke to Saburo knowing the ninja could easily take on fifty-plus of the bandits, but it was rare that Ondori got actual field experience, so he wanted to get as much hands on training that he could.

His hands shuffled quickly through three seals ending with the Tiger. In turn two copies of the Genin were created of the Genin phasing right out of his body. With the vision obstruction from the dust, noticing the clones bore no actual substance or effect on the environment would hopefully be overlooked, then not to mention the bandits being disoriented. Three more hand seals later, this string ending with the Rat, the Nara had taken a naturally slightly squatted horse stance. Nodding in sync with his replicas, the two clones proceeded forward into the dust cloud as a shadow trailed not far behind on the ground hidden from unfocused sight.

The Bandits would easily notice the two clones rushing at them, but that's what the black haired youngster wanted of course. "Two coming in." A bandit mumbled. One clone jumped high to attempt a horizontal head kick, the other while the other went for what could be called a bull charge or a typical take down. While this was in the works, the shadow crawling along the ground had caught up with one of the clones and slithered up the leg of one of the bandits as he went to dodge. The bandit would successfully 'avoid' being struck, but to find out it was for no reason, while his ally was being strangled by the neck through the application of Ondori's Jutsu. The dust was gently settling at this time and at least one foe would be in the process of being incapacitated while the other was at the mercy of Saburo if the man possessed any.

It was still quite the process to successfully use the Shadow Neck Binding Technique, but Ondori found this to be great practice as he had the privilege to not have to hold back. "Ya know . . . this is my first time using this jutsu to its fullest potential. The compound's Elders say with enough mastery it can actually break the target's neck and kill 'em." The struggle persisted, but eventually the eyes of the bandit rolled back and he lost consciousness. Sweat dripping from his face at this point, Ondori slowly released the Rat seal and exhaled before reverting to a normal stance. "Lucky for you I still have a long way to go." This part of Ondori's dialogue being a bit more silent as he wiped his forehead with the back of his hand.

In dealing with the two leftover meatsacks, they divided their workload as Ondori commited the last of his reserves to taking out one while Saburo was tasked with brutalizing the other. Seeing that Ondori was applying diversionary tactics with basic clones while his shadow streamed silently on the ground, Saburo had a more ostentatious manner of attack. He simply ran towards his target, picking up pace with his Taijutsu Master-level speed, which would normally overwhelm less physically apt combatants in close quarters combat. But the bandit, after dodging the fluke of an attack from Ondori's clone, was able to see this and produce a counter. While his ally had fallen to the shadow possession technique, he had the palms of his hands meet together and a second later, a total of six kunai floated from the bandit's open equipment pouch, before he sent them flying straight at Saburo. But while chakra flowed through them, the bandit actively converted the nature of such to that of the lightning nature, and as high-frequency waves complemented perfectly with the metallic bladed amplifiers, these lethal weapons could cut right into a human's flesh and come out the other side. Aligned vertically, two made their head for his head, while the other four would aim closely for his chest to maximize the surface area targeted. But Saburo, the acclaimed brutalizer of human faces, was not fazed by this combo of Ninjutsu and Bukijutsu. With his skill, these things would be flicked aside without wasting any chakra. While they were within two to three meters of reach, Saburo turned his body to the left until he faced the other way, with his right leg stamped on the ground, and then whipped his left leg for a quick roundhouse kick. His shiny boots smacked the blunt side of one kunai, and it continued to follow through until the path of all four kunai were safely altered. As he had bent his head and neck downwards in preparation for his kick, the two kunai missed the top-most strand of hair by a thin margin. And thus, the meatbag was wide open....

Saburo continued to rush in and at him and elbowed him right in the face the moment he got into melee range. "You little runt". He would then kick the guy off balance and watch as he flopped to the ground. The Daitaishou's knee found itself right on top of the bandit's chest, and a brawny hand on his neck - no doubt the strangle the poor fellow. While a tight grip was maintained on his airways, brutal fists rained down on the evildoer's face, continuously molding it out of recognizable form to a mutilated shape. Any trace of handsomeness was literally knocked out with each punch that followed. The bandit could not even beg for mercy, for with a hand over his throat and the pain that followed Saburo's assaults, he had no choice but to submit helplessly. Grunts, yelps, and oofs escaped his mouth whenever it had the chance. It wasn't before long when the bandit's face was covered in blood and his eyes strangely out of orientation did he realize that enough was enough.

He saw that the other enemy had already been taken out. "Cleaning out all these wannabe-bigshots always took a little more time than expected. You did well my boy, you did well." Only half of the bandits were still alive (by definition), while the rest were on their way to a darker side of the world due to Saburo's explosion. He took all of the knocked-out bodies all on him, as he was a giant man, and Ondori must have exhausted a large amount of his reserves. He had done his job and once Saburo filled out a report, he would make sure to commend the boy for his accomplishments in the field. "Now we bring back the luggage", he said and he returned to Kumogakure which wasn't far off due to their strategy.

Ondori was glad he had to devote so much focus into his jutsu for it to be effective, even though his concentration wasn't as sharp as it could have been due to exhaustion and Saburo pounding in the other bandits face. Nonetheless, the job got down and his opponent was strangled out and Saburo's was . . . well yeah. Looking around at all of the damage caused to the area by one single jutsu Saburo had used Ondori was still baffled. He knew shinobi were powerful and things like what had happened occurred many times through a day's cycle, but to witness it first hand was still a humbling sight. It was even more humbling to receive praise from Saburo, which Ondori wafted away modestly. "Just doing what I was assigned to, thank you for being my mentor for the mission though. You were a pleasure to work with." With that the two headed back to the nearby Kumogakure no Sato, then parted ways.
