Story
It's been five generations after the first war between Samurai and Shinobi. The five villages were founded shortly after and there has never been a war between them. Until now, all five villages have been off limits to the outside world, however the gates have been opened and ninja were allowed to travel between. But suddenly, kage are falling ill and no one knows who's behind it. The Hokage and Raikage both lie in comatose state, awaiting an answer as to what put them there.

Konoha Genin

This environment was new to Axel, as he lived around mountains all his life. for fifteen years he dreamed of leaving his home country to travel to others, and now he got the chance. The Land of Fire was beautiful with the great scenery, from multiple villages to calm forests with cool animals. He wasn't just there for the view however. He was here to get to the nexgt level, which was chunin in his case. Twice a year these chunin exams are held within a village that many genin ninja travel to in order to rank up, as well as any other people wishing to spectate. This is great for the economy of the host village as well since foreigners come with a lot of money to spend on things such as souvenirs of that land, food, places to stay, etc.

Axel was now at the training field getting ready for the exams that would occur in a few days. He knew he was good, but he wanted to be better since he was fighting ninja he had never seen before, and for all he knows they could have different methods of teaching that are better as well as better jutsu and abilities. The first thing he wanted to train was his strength since he hasn't worked out in quite some time. He was in the middle of the training grounds between trees and the field was very grassy. He started by doing one hundred push-ups and then did one hundred jumping jacks, and started stretching out his limbs after that. Sit-ups followed, one hundred of them. Now that he was done with exercising, he decided to lift objects, so he looked around for the largest boulder, and upon seeing something pretty big he ran towards it and immediately began to lift it as high as he could. Once it got above his head he threw it, then ran after it, picked it up again, threw it again, and repeated this process about five more times. He now took a rest near a tree. There were supposed to be other ninjas training with him, so he decided to wait for them.

Just a few days ago, Ichiryuu arrived in Konohagakure. Usually, he would be found in his home village of Kumogakure, but with the Chuunin Exams so soon, he decided to come here early in case something happened to him later and prevented him from making it. It was nice, compared to the mountainous and stormy Kumogakure. The people must have been happy living here...Ichiryuu couldn't blame him. Perhaps when he fufilled his goal, Konoha would be the center of it all. It certainly looked like a utopia.

Right now, Ichiryuu was just finishing up his tea at a local cafe. Dressed in what he considered his stealth suit, a black jumpsuit with black sandals, and black goggles on his forehead, Ichiryuu left a tip on the table, and left the cafe. His little break was over...he needed to get back to training. After all, he needed to prepare for the Chuunin Exams. From the short amount of time he got to stay in the fields before his hunger got the best of him, even the training field had a more calmer aura then the one back home.

As he walked to the training field, he began taking mental notes about the Konoha ninja. The higher ranked missions such as Chuunin aand Jounin wore green flak jackets, along with other colors that matched with the green. It was a very smart strategy, as it would help them camouflage into the surroundings. Leaf was such a massive forest, it would be very difficult to pull of an invasion.

The streets had a massive amount of people to and from work. It was rather ridiculous how big of a population Konoha had..if most of them were ninjas, the other villages would certainly be conquered already.

When he entered the training field, he saw a familiar face: Axel Rover, a classmate of his.

"Hey, Axel! You getting in some last minute training in too? Good, good! Together, us Genin will bring glory to the entire village! Remember, we have to help all the other squads in our village as best as we can."

To practice his chakra control and increase his reserves, he would use his academy jutsu. First, he would refine his ability to control the amount of chakra he put into a jutsu by using the transformation jutsu, transforming into a small, grey dog with goggles on its head. Then, he would get in a meditation stance, however a dog would do it. Soon, he would be able to control many more insects at once, taking the enemy's chakra at a faster rate.

Arisu had just arrived in the village of Konohagakure not too long ago. She had never traveled so far in her life, yet she wasn't tired. She wasn't tired because she had been to busy being curious about things on her way to the village. She had learned many things. She learned about gross creepy bugs, birds, and slimy green stuff. She honestly forgot the name. Well, that and the fact that she was too busy screaming because she thought it was going to eat her.

She had come to the village with her "father" and one other because of the churning exams. She was very excited and just couldn't contain herself so they had to leave right away. That and the fact that they were making sure everything would be ok in the village. Arisu had absent mindedly taken off her shoes. The path they traveled was made of dirty, which seemed like sand to Arisu, so she didn't mind removing her shoes. She couldn't really feel the ground through her feet anyway.

When they had arrived in the village, Arisu was so excited she bolted off. Her long blonde ponytail tied with a white ribbon was following after her. Her shoes dangled in her hands. She carried them just in case she felt the need to wear them. Her headband bounced around on her neck and her white dress seemed to flow as she ran. This was the reason she wore shorts under her dresses. Her mind was in an adventurous mode. She wanted to see things. Her eyes first glued to a river, which she quickly turned away from. She was afraid of what it might be and do. She had never seen a river before. So, she moved throughout the village with her shoes in hand, we eyes scanning, and her heart racing.

Eventually, Arisu had made it to a grassy area. She had put her shoes on afraid of what could be in the grass or how the grass itself could be. The girl was very inexperienced with nature. As she came upon this area, She noticed there were boys there. Would she try to befriend them? Would she leave them be? "Why do you seem afraid?" Arisu would hear a voice from within herself, "You were so alive only a moment ago." Arisu had heard this voice a few times. It seemed to be speaking with her a lot more often. She knew a lot about it. "Are you worried about me?" Arisu would say with a little bit of teasing in her voice. "I've never seen those boys before. I don't know what they're like. Maybe, I should just watch them. I want to know what they're like too." Arisu would say as she stared at the two boys. "Hm. Do what you will. You're quite the curious one. Watch them closely." Arisu would listen to the voice and then everything was silent. She had a feeling this voice didn't quite believe in her ability to protect herself. However, it didn't quite bother her. So, Arisu would keep her word and stay at a distance from these boys for a moment.

Caelus

"A left, then a right, then a kick! Pow-ow!" Caelus chanted while striking the final target of his on the tree. Training days were always like this for Caelus, fun and exciting. How could it not be? A chance to get a little stronger and once again test your limits as a shinobi. The boy really needed to train, it had been so long since he'd actually had some time for himself and focus on improving his skills. After a discussion with his grandfather Caelus decided to take his advice and work on improving his physical strength rather then his chakra control like he had originally planned. During vigorous training with his grandfather, it wasn't uncommon for the genin to hear the usual admiration from his mentor about his fighting ability. The old man always said he was a 'natural' at melee fighting, but Caelus never paid much attention to it. However, today he would focus on those words and practice his Taijutsu though, and hopefully his skills would flourish. Developing some methods the night before, he had a solid idea of what to practice and what to practice on.

So the day was beautiful, nice clouds, shinning sun, the whole nine yards of your typical nice day. Everything was fine except for the repeated thud of something massive hitting the ground, but fortunately Caelus was disciplined enough not to let it get to him. It would have helped if he were wearing something more suitable for cancelling out noise like earmuffs or something of that nature. But like any other day he just wore his usual attire and this time his headband was in its rightful place, wrapped expertly around his forehead. Normally the thing would be placed around his arm, but since he got tired of having to raise his sleeve to every official who demanded to see the proof of his village, it was now on his head.

A final strike echoed through the morning air sending the remaining wildlife that had been inhabiting the higher echelons of the tree scurrying off. Caelus wasn't off to a bad start, but there was more work to be done if he really wanted to see his training bear fruit. And with that thought in mind the genin sauntered off towards the other end of the grounds in search of a more challenging obstacle. He hadn't gone too far when he saw the two boys engaging what looked like training of their own. It was difficult to tell how old they were or what village they were from until he could get close enough. The shinobi was beginning to traverse the uneven terrain when he caught sight of a woman in the trees off to the side. His mouth did nothing short of drop as he gawked stupidly at what he could only make out to be a beautiful young lady. Caelus had momentarily forgotten where he was when he stepped forward to take another step only to be met by empty air. The ground had dropped off a little in front of him just enough to throw off his balance and send him somersaulting forward. Grass and sky flew past his eyes rapidly until he came to an ungraceful stop at the bottom of the hill.

"Ugh....I think I just set a record for most embarrassing intro in front of a group of strangers ever," his voice coming out in a disappointed mumble. At least he'd landed on his back facing the sky instead of lying face down in the grass and dirt. It wasn't in his nature to feel shy, but he wished now more than ever that he could just turn invisible and slink off somewhere before they could get a closer look or worse start laughing at him. "Hahahaha you fell on your butt in front of those other humans. But it looked like soooooo much fun, can we do it again? Please please please puh-lease Cae-Cae?" Caelus had assumed the rokubi had gone to sleep when he began his training early that morning and was even looking forward to being with his thoughts a little while longer. Heaving a weary sigh the young man fought to keep an annoyed expression off of his face as he replied to the entity within him. "Thanks for the reminder Saiken, I'd almost forgotten about it, but thank goodness you were here to remind me. And to answer your question we are NOT going to be doing it again, I was lucky not to hurt myself this time. Besides I told you to stop calling me that." The remark oozed sarcasm at the beginning before dropping off into a slightly less annoyed tone. Caelus was getting use to Saiken's antics but there were times when he just didn't feel like dealing with him.

"Wow" the young women would say softly, the headband around her neck would give away the fact that this young girl did not belong to the village in which she was situated outside off. She didn't really know much about the lay out of the village hidden in leaves. Thus she had chosen a place easy to find to train, the forest located at either side of the gates of the majestic village. The lay out was beautiful and there were plenty of gaps located deeper within the forest. One of these gaps were where the young girl had chosen to train. She could have trained at the training field, but she had concluded that many of the other villagers would chose to train in that location plus the clueless female had no idea were it actually was. Now back to the wow, it was amazing seeing such beauty in the sky, normally her vision would be obscured by mist or when she lived in Amegakure the rain itself. Amused by the clouds that slithered within the sky, she was certain she had been able to pick out shapes. Tigers and bunnys formed in her vision from the white cotton candy that slowly moved as the world rotated around her. The sun was beautiful and the warm temperature would take some time to adjust to the change.

This sun, this radiance of light seemed to envelop the female, her angelic nature seeming to command the light to show all of her good sides and none of her flaws. The blackish purple hair shone gently as the extant of its silky condition was shown in the light while her clothing seemed to enhance her angelic nature. The green and white snowflake like jacket combined with the pure white dress that had snowflakes along the bottom in cubic zirconias. Her sandals white in colour shown the purity of the female and also enhanced the tone of her white skin against the snow white materials that covered her body, the translucent material also a snow flake like item would give the impression that the female were a fan of snow or even that her abilities revolved around her love of the weather status. This of course was not true, she loved all weathers but snow like clothing was her favourite.

Gently smiling as she pulled up her socks preparing for the training that she would under go, she had done as much chakra control training that she were willing to do, her aim for today was to increase her speed, the beige bag she had carried...rather slowly would fall open as she pulled out the leg warmer like item and attached them. These were weights that she had borrowed from Kirigakure, hence the logo upon them. Lunar Knight, ready to train for the genin exams would begin her training.

Hours past and the young female would be bent over huffing and puffing, sweat dribbling down her body as her white dress clung to her, strange enough the dress did not become see through due to the water, in fact even in kiri when it became saturated it revealed nothing. Unique material perhaps from the land of water? She had been training oh yeah and hard at it, This comprised of running, of course to increase stamina and performing basic work out routines that she had taken from her dads diary. The main thing she had been using was the weights, This was not her first day of speed training though, the girl had been doing this vast training every day for two years though only today had see added in the tree moving element making this training much more advanced. Her body had been pushed to its limits and with the use of the surface technique she had been capable of using the trees for vertical movement and the branches as things to avoid. She had felt different the past few days, lighter quicker and over all healthier to be perfectly honest. The weights were heavier than when she first started months ago and today they were at the heaviest she had used. her movements had increased and she was even willing to use them when she trained her techniques. This would help her movement when performing those jutsu.

Today she was going to begin training a jutsu, first she would rest and devour her picnic made fresh by her jounin assistant whom she had gained permission from to train in private, He would check in every now and again but left her to her own devices without saying a word. It was him that had brought the basket and simply left giving a wink. This rest would allow her to rejuvenate and she felt as though she were ready to begin training a jutsu that she had created with inspiration from the mimes that performed on the street for cash. It was a technique from a style that she adored, one known as Kekkai Ninjutsu or barrier ninjutsu, this barrier did not cover her completely but was a great defence technique and even had a counterpart that she could train. Though the training for that would require weapon traps to be used or a partner currently someone she did not have. She would start by gathering stones from around the forest as well as twigs and sticks. Now the technique required handseals, two of which she would complete, the tiger and rat seals would form seamlessly. Allowing the chakra to circulate which seemed a much easier feat these days due to the training she had previously completed with her teacher, the medical master Akiba. Feeling her chakra and using it as an extension of her body instead of simply just a tool had been key for her, This chakra would pass through her tenketsu points and up the chakra network until it reached her hands were it would shoot forth for exactly 1 foot, instantly forming this wall as her hands moved in unique or to those unable to see chakra crazy ways. She would be unable to know if this worked though, for the young girl would be unable to see the wall herself. This is were the sticks and stuff came in as she moved backwards she would begin to throw sticks at the area were the barrier was supposed to be. Supposed to being the proper word for the sticks simply passed through the air.

This is why one trains of course, using the technique over and over until she were to fully achieve her goal. It would be a long process of repeating the same movements and motions trying to solidify her chakra  in to this wall. Finally after twenty to thirty minutes the genin of the village hidden in mist would complete her task and solidify a proper wall. Naturally once would not be enough and she would continue, finally she felt fine about her technique, she had managed to solidify the wall over and over again and without failure. Happy about being able to complete such a jutsu and form it not only in person but actually think up and create the jutsu gave her hope for the future, this was hers, her work from her own brain. She did feel though she had done enough for now and would find herself spending some money on dumplings in a very cute shop.

Dumpling in hand the young girl would find herself wandering around the village and alas! As fate would have it, she stumbled across a band of ninja within the training fields. she counted four and did her eyes deceive her one of them seemed familiar, one from her own village. Thank god, she had begun to feel somewhat alone in such a big village. Walking towards the group when she felt close enough, around five feet from the kirigakure shinobi, "Be careful of this one girl, he's very similar to you as is the girl" a voice would sound in her head. It would show in her face her shock, To be honest the thing within her rarely even spoke to her...she had only heard its voice a total of four times including this one and had simply thought she was being crazy. Within her mind she would shakily say "U..uhm..o.k.ok" the voice responded with a grunt and reply with "Still not ready to accept me, well girl im only in you till ya die or i get sucked out, i admire your drive perhaps one day" it would say and the voice went silent. She wasn't fully capable of accepting her role as a jinchuuriki, and due to that hadn't accepted that she was a host to the four tailed ape. Perhaps she would one day, his statement right there filled her with a warmth she hadn't felt when he had spoken...and she also felt some of his emotion, did he feel sad about not being accepted. Shaking this from her mind she would grow an even bigger smile if that were possible. "HI MY NAMES LUNAR PLEASED TO MEET YOU ALL" she would shout not realising how loud her voice was.

Axel sat near the tree for another five minutes and then got back up, his eyes closed as he did so due to the harsh light that came down from the sun, which he actually enjoyed.

"Alright, now what should I do to improve my strength next? Lift more rocks, exercise? Ugh, I just did those things though," Axel said aloud as he walked around the tree he was just sitting near. He began looking at the tree as he did this, and suddenly a light bulb lit up in his brain, which was uncommon since he mainly thought with his fists. He would attempt to bring down the trees around him with pure taijutsu, and even though he most likely would not be able to do so, the more his body attempted to, the more it would soon be a reality. His body turned until it faced the tree, getting into a boxing fighting stance, hands high up against his head. He ran towards the tree to close the 10 feet he put in between it a few seconds ago and gave the target a tough right jab, making dozens of leaves of the tree fall onto the ground, the tree itself shaking a bit. Axel's right hand already began hurting, but that did not stop him. He jumped backwards and ran towards the tree again, this time punching it with his left hand, and he repeated this method, jumping backwards, right jab, jumping backwards, left jab, and sometimes he mixed it up using light combos instead of strong single punches.

While he was doing this, a fellow Kumogakure ninja named Ichiryuu came up to him talking about how he and Axel would bring glory to their village while competing in the chunin exams. Axel smiled at this comment.

"Yes, yes we are Ichiryuu. It is about time the young ninja are given a chance to make their village look good, heh," Axel replied, smiling with his eyes closed now. His reply was kind of ignorant since there were tons of kumo genin that proved their village great in previous chunin exams, but he didn't quite care. Just then, a boy rolled across the grass and ended up in between Axel and Ichiryuu. He mumbled something that Axel didn't quite hear, then he bega replying to some person named Saiken that the young kumo genin couldn't see.

"Uh, are you alright dude? Who is Saiken?" Axel asked with a curious look on his face, but at the same time a smile. A girl then walked towards the group and introduced herself as Lunar and then said she was pleased to meet them all. The three of them stood in a triangle-formation while the clumsy and weird boy was still in the middle on the ground.

"Well, I am pleased to meet you all as well. I am Axel and this is Ichiryuu," the ninja replied with his right hand pointing to himself and his left pointing to his friend. After that he noticed a girl glancing at them from afar, standing next to a tree a few meters away from them.

"You can join in the fun too!" Axel shouted as he raised his right hand and pulled it towards himself to gesture her to come over.

After a few minutes of meditation, he released the jutsu, going back into his original form. What was his dream? How would he attain the perfect utopia? He thought about this question many times..he needed to become the Raikage, and conquer all the major villages with as little bloodshed as possible. It seemed impossible..but, it didn't wave his hope in the slightest. The young Aburame trusted his lord...not, the Rikudo, no, simply an omnipotent being called God. He would guide the young shinobi to what he called the "golden path", the path that was right and true. He imagined all the homeless and hungry children around the world, coming together...finally having homes, food, and a loving family. Ichiryuu would be everyone's father.

However, his thoughts and training were interrupted by a chain of events. A...special one fell down a hill, while a girl screamed out a greeting for no reason. He shot up from his meditation, annoyed, glaring at the two of them for the rude entrance. However, he quickly softened his expression and turned it back into a smile.

"Hello..I don't recognize any of you from Kumogakure. What village did you guys come from?"

He assumed that these Genin came for the Chuunin Exams.

"Oh! I almost forgot.."

He bowed down for a moment, then came back up.

"I am Ichiryuu, the future Raikage."

He saw no reason for him to reveal his clan abilities. Any of them could have been aligned with Konohagakure, the original home of the Aburames. Since he was a smart guy, he didn't need any of them to know his abilities, even Axel. They could have been facing each other in the Chuunin Exams.

Then, he turned his attention to the girl who had previously yelled.

"Not to be rude, but miss..can you please try and keep it down? I don't think you meant to be so loud, but you interrupted me from my meditation, and you're agitating my friends."

When he spoke of his friends, he was referring to the insects living inside of his body, but of course, none of them would know that.Whatever they assumed, he didn't care. While he was nice, he was also a ninja.

"A word of advice to everyone at this training field. We're all ninja, and I'm assuming we're all Genin ready to participate in the exams! Never take anything for face value..paranoia is our best friend..and I know, that it will seem very hard to do this, but you can't be afraid to kill anyone. I get a happy vibe from all of you guys, so I want to see each and everyone of you make it out in one piece!"

Arisu stood at a distance from the two as she continued to watch them. That hadn't done anything suspicious to her but the voice inside her had warned her to stay alert. That's when she noticed another. The other seemed to roll down a hill. This would make Arisu cover her mouth. She didn't want to laugh at him and make him feel bad. She also didn't really wish for anyone to notice her. Plus, she didnt even know if he was okay or not. Besides, it was another boy. She didn't exactly know how to feel about them yet due to past experiences with them.

After a moment, she watched as a girl appeared. The girl was very loud. She yelled out a greeting, which Arisu could hear clearly. "Lunar?" She would whisper to herself. "What an original name." Arisu had never heard that name before. She liked it. Then, her attentiom was back on the group as she saw one of the boys speaking and motioning to her. "Should I really go over there? I mean I do like making friends but-" Arisu would cut off her words and stand still for moment. "Those two that just arrived..." Arisu would listen to the voice inside her. "Huh? What about them?" "They're similar to you." "What? I don't understand What you mean?" "Just like you have me... they have them." "I still don't get it. Who is them?" "I can inform you later. Go to them." Arisu would blink a moment. "Ok." With that the girl would walk in the group's direction.

"Hi there. My name is Arisu." The girl would smile as she looked around. Her eyes staying longer on the two that she heard were like herself.
